Why EDG?

“In the last seven years as a National Sales Manager for Lutron, I have found out just how good this company (EDG) is … they truly have no peers and you will not find one finer.”- Jeff Zamenek, National Sales Manager Lutron Electronics
EDG’s more than 20 years in business has distinguished us as a leader in media room design and installation. Here are some of the key differences between our competitors and us
We have worked on more than 1,200 projects, from small to extremely large scope, so we know what home theater and media room layouts, and home automation solutions work best in different residential and commercial environments.
EDG supports very deep engineering, design and technical resources. In addition, our fleet consists of more than 12 vehicles, each manned by a skilled master field technician that’s dedicated to providing the highest level of customer service to our clients or their contractors.
We take the lead position in coordinating audio/visual, home theater, and media room design plans throughout the building process with the client and with other trades. EDG has a stellar reputation for effectively communicating our building and performance requirements for electronics systems, and for working effectively with architects, builders, interior designers, electricians, millworkers, and other trades to find solutions that meet everyone’s needs. The end result is meeting scheduled milestones in the field to keep building projects on track.

History

President Bob Gullo started a company called Audio Video Consultants in 1987. With an eye toward providing stunning home entertainment and high-tech home automation systems, he led the company on a professional design path aimed at working with a client’s architects, designers and builders at the earliest possible stages of a project.
“Few integration companies enjoy the reputation and honors that characterize NJ-based Electronics Design Group, headed by President Bob Gullo. Winners of more industry citations than would easily fit on a page … EDG is in practice what a lot of aspiring integrators would like to grow up to be.”
Custom Retailer Magazine, April 2004
Shortly after the company’s inception, its Vice President, Ed Condiracci, joined the firm. Ed took charge of the engineering department, bringing an important background in management, home theater construction and professional home automation and audio/video installation. Ed’s expertise served as an important resource in consumer
electronics hardware and low-voltage wiring, allowing EDG to work closely with architects and builders as a team to resolve problems inevitably encountered in custom home theater installations.
In 1991, Bob decided that it was to his clients’ benefit to develop greater expertise about the integration of other electronic technologies into the home, such as lighting control systems, advanced structured wiring, video cameras, telephones and integrated “brains” that could monitor and provide touchscreen control for all these systems. In keeping with this expanded capability, the company was renamed “Electronics Design Group, Inc.” A period of intensive growth then began that demanded two subsequent relocations to larger quarters and the completion of our present 17,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art facility. Today, EDG employs more than 50 specialists who dominate in the fields of audio, video, lighting, telephone, and whole house automationdesign and installation. To find out more about The EDG Process, please click here.
“I’ve been involved in the home technology industry for 15 years, and I hate to say it but I do play favorites. Bob Gullo is one of my favorites. He runs a great business, maintains a staff of excellent professionals, and garners well-deserved respect from vendors, customers and competitors. EDG boasts a huge number of award-winning installations that show true ingenuity in solving tricky technological challenges — like how to hide unsightly speakers and TV screens, and how to create an infrastructure that is clean, organized and poised for the future. EDG is a class act in every respect.”JULIE JACOBSON, EditorCE Pro, Electronic House
