New York City, NY – Janurary 22, 2004-

The chic restaurant Eleven Madison Park was the site of a two hour breakfast and lunch seminar on residential lighting control systems and residential control systems. This EDG hosted event, sponsored by Lutron and AMX, captivated an audience full of the finest interior designers, architects, and lighting designers in New York.

The first hour of the seminar featured EDG’s first AIA certified program titled, “Practical Applications for Residential Lighting Controls”, and was presented by Dave Randolph, Director of Critical Systems for EDG. The AIA 1 LU seminar focused on case studies of real life scenarios to properly illustrate the practical features and applications of a lighting control system.

“The event that EDG hosted for architects and lighting designers was a first-class affair. The presentation was extremely relevant to the design process and absolutlely made the designers feel more comfortable using control systems on projects,” stated Glenn Buchholz of Lutron Electronics.

Dave Humphries, of Thea and Shoen, presented “A/V Control Systems for Residential Applications” during the second hour of the two hour seminar. This AIA 1 LU class from AMX covered the principle components of a control system and identified important issues to consider when designing for technology using a control system.

“We’re extremely pleased at the way this event came together. EDG has taken a major leap in becoming an informative resource to the architectural and design community”, said Nick Lehotzky of EDG. “A tight collaboration with other trades is the foundation of our business.”
