Electronics Design Group Takes Home Top Prize from Electronic House Magazine’s Home of the Year Awards EDG’s “Four Point Play” won first place in the “Grand Spaces” category

PISCATAWAY, N.J.-March 19, 2008-

Electronics Design Group, an organization with extensive experience and expertise in the design, engineering, integration, and installation of custom home electronic systems, is celebrating a first place win in the newly designated “Grand Spaces” category of the Electronic House Home of the Year Awards. Electronic House judges created this category after a large number of homes over 20,000 square feet were submitted, to recognize that a project of this size requires a more extensive level of commitment and planning than a smaller one. The 2008 winners represent the best in custom home electronics products, services, and installed technology, and were presented their awards at the Electronic House Expo (EHX) spring event in Orlando, Fla.

The EDG submission was a luxury home installation called “Four Point Play,” one of many EDG designs. The client, owners of a 20,000 sq.-ft.-home, requested an automation system that would integrate the lighting, multi-room audio, HVAC, telephones, dedicated home theater, home computer network, pool and spa controls, garage control, and security cameras to be controlled via touch panels and PCs throughout the home. The project required EDG’s coordination with interior designers, architects, and builders.

The result was an extensive home automation system that leaves nothing to be desired: a Lutron lighting control system that controls all day home appearance, 10 energy efficient heating and cooling zones, iPod docking stations throughout the estate, DVR and TiVo for every television, and the ability to remotely adjust the pool and spa temperature so they’re ready when you are. EDG’s solution features clean walls with no visible switches, thermostats, or remotes. In 2007, “Four Point Play” received the Gold Medal for Best Integrated Home from CEDIA Electronic Lifestyle.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled with this award,” says EDG President and Founder Bob Gullo. “The nomination was an honor in itself, and to actually take home a first place prize in a field of such advanced home automation projects is a great feeling. I’m so proud of what my team accomplished with this installation. News like this just keeps motivating us to up the ante in all of our projects.”
EDG has taken home three Electronic House awards in the past. The first annual awards ceremony was held in 2006 when EDG won two awards. They took home one more at the 2007 event.
