Piscataway, NJ-September 14, 2001-
In front of a standing room only crowd of more than 2,500 people at the Indiana Convention Center, Electronics Design Group, Inc. won the prestigious award for “BEST MEDIA ROOM” and a second award for “BEST HIDDEN TECHNOLOGY.” “To be recognized by our peers as being the best in the industry is something I’m proud of. We entered three projects and we won two out of three………I am just speechless……” said Bob Gullo, EDG President. With over 16,000 ballots cast, and many excellent projects entered, EDG had some formidable competition.
Electronics Design Group is the only company to win “BEST MEDIA ROOM” for an unprecedented third time. “These awards tonight, plus two new feature articles on our company this fall, shows the commitment our team has to EDG and its clients who select us as their solutions provider. I thank my Partner, Project Managers, Engineers, Technicians, Sales Team and my support staff, we couldn’t do it without them”
The EDG Media Room entry was a five-screen multimedia showpiece: 110″ front projection, 42″ flat panel plasma, two 65″ rear projection, and a 24″ CRT display with HDTV sources on four of the five monitors. The elegant touch screen controls from AMX operate all the media equipment plus 8 zones of lighting and 10 motorized black out shades which completes the space. “This room is a technological masterpiece. Even with so much technology, the room doesn’t scream media. Its a beautifully designed room, with great sound and hi-end video, and it is easy and simple to operate the systems thanks to my talented programmers who wrote the custom code”
The second winning entry is a beautiful lake view room that hides all the technology. “This room is very special to me. My client wanted a room that didn’t showcase any equipment at all, yet they wanted a room that could function as both a hi-performance media room and reading and relaxing room. We worked closely with the client’s designer to create a space that hides everything, the projector is in a motorized lift that drops from the ceiling, the screen and main loudspeaker channels tuck away in a beautiful millwork design that even has a window seat. All the equipment is in a rack in a nearby closet, and you don’t lose the lake view.” The system featured a 110″ screen with front projection, a JBL Professional screening room audio system with motorized blackout shades, and lighting, all controlled from a wireless AMX touchpanel.
